1. Stance (Preparation)

Feet: Keep your feet shoulder-width apart. If you're an orthodox boxer (right-handed), place your right foot forward and your left foot back. If you're a southpaw (left-handed), place your left foot forward.
Knees: Keep your knees slightly bent for better balance.
Hands: Raise your hands to protect your face. Your hands should be at your cheek level, and the hand that is not in front should be near your chin for protection.

3. Movements (Dodging)

Move Quickly: Keep your feet moving quickly while maintaining balance. You should move forward, backward, or sideways to avoid punches.
Pivoting: Moving around your opponent helps you avoid attacks and find better angles to strike.

Here are more tips about Movements (Dodging) in boxing:

  1. Keep your head low: When avoiding punches, try to keep your head slightly lowered. This will help you avoid strong punches aimed at your head or face.

  2. Use your feet: Sometimes, just moving your feet backward or sideways can be more effective than attempting to dodge with your head alone. Keep moving continuously to avoid being static and make it harder for your opponent to land a punch.

  3. Sequential dodging: Learn to combine different movements like slipping, pivoting, and stepping back in a quick sequence. With practice, you’ll be able to move smoothly and continuously, making it difficult for your opponent to land a hit.

  4. Don't over-rely on retreating: Avoid backing up excessively, as this may give your opponent the opportunity to strike or corner you. Try to balance between retreating and counterattacking.

  5. Anticipate and react to your opponent: The more you are able to read your opponent, the better you can predict the punches they’re going to throw. Once you anticipate the attack, it becomes easier to dodge it.

  6. Stay guarded while moving: When you move to avoid a punch, don’t leave yourself unprotected. Make sure your front hand stays in position to guard while you move.

  7. Master timing: Timing is key when dodging punches. Learn when to move and when to wait for your opponent to strike, then react accordingly.

4. Defensive Tactics

Guarding: Keep your hands high to protect your face.
Slipping: Use your body to avoid punches by tilting your head or body to the side, rather than blocking them directly.
Rolling: Bend slightly backward or downward to avoid punches coming from above or below.
